Introduction to today's journey

HAWAII'S amazing landscape has lent itself to many movies over the years. Many of these have been filmed in Kauai, the north westernmost and oldest island still rising above sea level. The dramatic subtropical landscape has created many a movie scene over the years, depicting many exotic locations around the world without leaving the United States of America.

Today's journey starts in Lihue heading anticlockwise around the eastern side of the island visiting many movie sites. Some of these movies I have seen and many others (mainly older movies) I've made a note to see later when not travelling. In particular I pass some of the scenes from Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones and a place where Elvis Presley hung out. We eventually end up in Princetown, Polynesia's northernmost town.
