ANOTHER stroll up and down the Brisbane River today. With dredging recently stopped the once coffee brown river was clearing to what it once was. There were even reports of sharks and dolphins coming this far upstream, some thirty kilometres up the meanders from the sea. The river remains tidal for a further sixty kilometres, the current strongly flooding and ebbing twice a day breathing life into the city it snakes its way through. |
