HEAVY rains earlier this year ensured the wetlands would live up to their name for most of the year. Today I took a walk through the Boondall Wetlands, following the concrete path passing through marshland too low and boggy to ever be developed.
Small tidal channels pass through the wetlands bringing the tides up and down the sluggish muddy rivers feeding fish and other life that will very shortly be food for the birds returning from their annual winter migration to the northern hemisphere.
