ABOUT seven kilometres south of Cape Moreton the Spitfire Creek stream flows out of the sand hills into a small swamp area before flowing through a break in the ever shifting sand hill by the beach into the sea.
The stream was named Spitfire Creek as this was part of the flight path of the old World War II planes that flew over here on training exercises from a military base on the mainland.
