ACROSS the river from Brisbane City is an old quarry. Below the quarry is the remains of a small port from where the rock was ferried across the river to construct some of the old buildings when the city was first settled. Little remains of the port apart from the solid stone breakwater where tufts of tussock grow on it, creating an interesting natural foreground to the city. |
