THERE are many small markets around the lost city of Angkor. Here the traders do the best they can to make a living using whatever meagre resources they have available.
At this stall a girl lays out lollies cooked from sugars extracted from the palm trees that grow here. They sell them to the sweet toothed foreigners. The locals cannot eat them as they wear out their otherwise healthy teeth, and they have no access to dental treatment here.
