A THICK blanket of haze covers Bangkok on this hot October night. Lightning flashes from distant storm clouds. Looking down from the top of the hotel where I was staying there was a lot of activity in the streets below. High rise buildings extended out as far as the eye could see - a testament of the enormity of this place. Having spent the past couple of weeks travelling through remote parts of Cambodia and Vietnam, Bangkok was quite a culture shock. It was here I farewelled the group I had been travelling with over the past couple of weeks. Blog from today: |
