ON SAFARI in Uganda's Queen Elizabeth Park I encountered numerous mammals. Here I am standing with my group in the middle of the park overlooking an explosion crater where the occasional volcanic eruption contributes towards widening the rift valley splitting Africa in half to create what will eventually become a new ocean.
