A BOAT sits on the foreshore of Lake Victoria in Uganda. It is a serene setting apart from the rubbish littering the grass and the large storks scavenging nearby.
The hilly islands nearby give the illusion this is a much smaller lake than it really is - this is the second biggest freshwater lake in the world, standing at over a kilometre above sea level, draining into the Nile River.
