THIS was the first of two supermoons of early winter. the skies above Brisbane are usually too turbulent from the prevailing jet stream blowing above six kilometres above sea level creating too much distortion for clear images such as this.
Thankfully this night the air was still enough for a clear image of the moon, which was a lot brighter than usual being at its closest point in its orbit to earth, The haze that often blankets the low altitudes around Brisbane was absent clearing the way for the most magnificent full moon I have seen in a long time.
