THERE had been a lot of alto stratus cloud over much of the day, indicating a fantastic sunset. However most of this cleared away in the late afternoon potentially resulting in a very ordinary sunset. However just before the sun touched hte distant cloud to the west, the sky over the lake glowed a bright golden orange. This was reflected in the wind ruffled lake below the low forested hills on the other side.

Lake Kurwongbah is a small water supply lake tucked away to the north of Brisbane. There is one small park where two family groups were having a barbeque about a hundred metres either side of me. otherwise it was very quiet here.

Ducks frollicked the shallows as the sun quickly sank towards the horizon illuminating the water with a bright display of fire until going behind the distant cloud. Then the sky quickly darkened.
