THE JOURNEY inland from Nambour was winding up into where the hills were enveloped in thick cloud and gentle rain was falling. I followed the 4.7 kilometre Picnic Creek and Kondalilla Falls circuits.
About a kilometre along the trail was a beautiful rock pool with a trickle of a waterfall dropping from the rock ledge above into it. With little rain having fallen so far this summer the waterfall was very minimal, almost ghostly. It took a five second exposure to capture the fine braids of water falling into the black pool below.
Behind me was a sheer eighty metre drop over the Kondalilla Falls. Though with hardly a trickle running down the rock face there was little to see today. I'll return here following some more substantial rain to capture this spectacular waterfall.
