I HEADED inland from Brisbane firstly crossing the D'Aguilar Range at Mount Glorious before heading across the vast parched basin of the Brisbane Valley to the top of the Great Dividing Range and following it northward between Crow's Nest and Blackbutt before heading back home via the Glasshouse Mountains - nearly 500km all up.
Upon my approach to Crow's Nest I turned off towards two of the local water supply lakes, one of which was Lake Cessbrook, a tranquil lake set deep in the hills below the range, providing a lovely oasis in the otherwise drought parched landscape.
