DARKNESS loomed over the Sunshine Coast as I set up my camera on tripod on the beach where the low swell was breaking. The birds were just stirring perhaps confused by the illumination of the bright street lights.
In the distant horizon, dawn was beginning to break on the other side of a line of low cloud drifting over the edge of the continental shelf. The weather was otherwise calm in anticipation of a warm day. In just a couple of hours' time, the deserted beach will become crowded with holidaymakers.
