RAIN was falling when I arrived at Burleigh Beach. It had stopped falling once I commenced hiking the hill circuit. The coastal track had closed due to rockfall danger.
The track continued uphill through gnarly coastal forest until reaching the Tugun Lookout just in front of the summit of Burleigh Head. From the lookout were spectacular views across the Tellebudgewa Creek and along Palm Beach towards Coolangatta and the hills below Springbrook National Park hidden in the approaching misty rain.
