HEADING up to the southern end of Blackall Range the first stop was the Mary Cairncross Reserve, a large block of rainforest still perfectly preserved with an easy grade track going around it.
Next stop was the nearby town of Melany where the markets were operating and I found the Meleny Trail leading from the town centre following the upper reaches of the Obi Obi Creek around the edge of the local golf course.
In this picture I'm on the Mary Cairncross Reserve track standing under a giant 200 year old vine.winding its way up the huge rainforest trees.
