THE STORMY southerly continued through the night and into the morning, so we braved the elements and continued hiking along the top of the range before the track steeply dropped back down to the edge of the lake. Despite the storm continuing on the range and the ongoing drizzle, conditions were surprisingly calm down here at the lake's edge. Lake Waikaremoana (meaning the lake of the rippling waters) was not living up to its reputation of being very choppy today. Trek from today: Blog from today: |
