I VISITED the Te Papa Museum in the morning to fill in time before my flight home in the afternoon. There was a new display put together by Weta Workshop on the ANZACs in Gallipoli. There was a very long queue to get into it, but the wait was very well worthwhile as the displays were amazing. In particular there were several double scale people that had been incredibly well constructed portraying the action of war and deep emotion scarred on their faces. The detail and lighting were absolutely amazing. It seemed strange seeing these giant people - I felt like a little hobbit in the presence of giants. The ambient music in the background heightened the emotion portrayed by these literally larger than life statues as I stood before each one remembering the great war. Blog from today: |
