LAST night I noticed the Moon and Jupiter were getting close. Tonight the Moon passed Jupiter with just over a degree between them. Jupiter is the little white dot at the bottom of the image.
The inset shows the magnification of Jupiter. At this magnification up to four of its moons should be visible, but the glare of our moon makes them too faint to see tonight. I'll photograph Jupiter on a darker night at some stage in the near future with the hope of seeing several of its moons.
