ONCE the government offices of the DPRK when President Kim Il Sung was reigning, the entire complex was turned into his mausoleum when he died in 1994. In 2011 his son General Kim Jong Il died, and their bodies remain preserved here on display under close guard in this mausoleum where we visited in the early monring.
Following our visit to Kumsusan Palace, we headed across the city to the birthplace of the president, before attending the local circus, a mass dance, and a beer festival.
