CONSIDERING going to a full-frame camera, I briefly had the use of a friend's Canon 5D mkIII during a short hike. Being full-frame, the images extend by about 60% over the crop frame cameras I have grown used to over the years. This was most apparent when using my fisheye.
The fisheye lens created a circular image stretching 180 degrees across the diagonal. This hugely distorts the horizon when taken at a high or low angle as shown here. Standing at the edge of Lake Samsonvale withe the lens focused on just off the water's edge 60 degrees downwards, the lake swings around giving the illusion of a tiny earth. The cloudy sky is clearly visible across the top as are my legs.
