HEADING home on the train through the short underground section leaving the city, the view is not too bad for a train trip, but after quite a number of years doing this same trip, the scenery is the same day after day, with almost no indication of seasons. Many regulars read, others hunch over their "smart" phones. Others gaze blankly out of the windows day after day, year after year.
I make good use of this time each morning and evening. Almost all the content I've developed over the years for the blogs, superblogs and treks over the years have been on the train each day. Although the trip is fairly short, the cumulative content written has amounted to a huge amount of content, approaching a million words and still going strong.
It also gives me something to do as the rail network continues to age and deteriorate with increasing frequency of breakdowns. Being lost away in the travel blogs under the harsh urine-toned florescent lighting allows the time to pass regardless of what happens.
