STARTING the hike around Moreton Island at sunrise, I headed northward along the pristine golden beaches, reaching the Comboyuro campsite after twelve kilometres. Near the campsite is another ship graveyard where the rusting wrecks of three passenger and cargo ships scuttled around 1930 create a small point. The beach has partially buried two of these wrecks making what's left of them easy to explore. |
