STARTING at Cleveland Point under overcast skies with the threat of rain, the sky gradually lightened to produce a spectacular sunrise over the bay. The tide had completely gone out exposing the rocky mud flats capturing shallow pools of water reflecting the fiery clouds.
From Cleveland Point I followed the coast back to Toondah Harbour, where the Stradbroke ferries depart. From there I caught the train back to Birkdale to hike back to Cleveland along the coast roughly following the final unhiked section of the 150 km long Moreton Bay Cycleway running between Woorim (Bribie Island) and Redland Bay.
