HEADING across to South Stradbroke Island by boat, I arrived at the Couran Cove Resort. From there I headed north along a track, the Broadwater Trail, towards the Tipplers Campground.
The sky was overcast with occasional rainfall, but fortunately it wasn't cold. The forest on this pristine island was spectacular, with plenty of birds and wallabies.
Upon reaching the Tipplers Campsite I checked in and set up camp at one of the waterfront sites for two nights as a base from where I'll explore the northern end of the island. Although it would likely be packed here during peak times, it was very quiet and peaceful here today.
