REACHING Point Lookout in the late afternoon, I headed out to the surf lifesaving club sitting on the southernmost of several volcanic headlands jutting out into the sea. It is separated from the next headland by a small sandy beach called South Gorge. The next headland has the start of the Gorge Walk heading northward around the next two headlands going around the dramatic North Gorge.
Looking south from this headland is endless beach stretching along the entire length of North and South Stradbroke Islands continuing to the Gold Coast about 70 kilometres away.
This is a 30 second shot looking across South Gorge shortly after sunset.
