GOOD morning friends. I've just left North Arm Hut and just past the junction. So now I'm heading along Paterson Inlet back towards Halfmoon Bay. I hope to get there early this afternoon and relax. It looks like the track is pretty good through here and probably will be for the whole way through. It's overcast and quite cold but perfect conditions for hiking. There's a couple of abandoned sawmills along the way which I'll be stopping at, some more remains of the forestry that used to happen all through here. Apart from that it's a pretty direct hike above the shores of the inlet and back into civilisation.

Well I've reached the half way point along the track between North Arm and Halfmoon Bay. There's a beautiful little creek here. It used to be dammed with a water powered sawmill here. But it is all long gone now. All that is left now is this pristine little creek.

I'm back at the Ryan's Creek junction. There's another fifty minutes to go before I'm back in town. I've come out from North Arm and now I've come pretty much full circle now. I've just got to do the last little bit back into Halfmoon Bay.

I've made it to the end of the track. So you can see, day 1 I went up here (to Port William). Day 2 through to there (North Arm) and today out to here (the end of the track). So now I've just got to follow the road back to Halfmoon Bay.

Well I'm back in Halfmoon Bay now. Back to civilisation after my three day hike along the Rakiura Track. For the rest of the day I'm relaxing spending time at the hotel just relaxing there. Now to find my next meal which somebody else is going to cook. Then I'll relax for the rest of the day and one more full day on the island tomorrow and that's going to be pretty full on and action packed. It's over and out for today.
