HELLO friends. Today a group of us are exploring the Rakatu Wetlands. It is beside the Waiau River much of the way up to Fiordland and close to Lake Manapouri. It's very cold and windy today but hope to see some good birds today as I've got the bazooka lens all ready to go.

There's a family of ducks out here and I'm going to see if I can get a slightly closer look and get some good shots of them. On the other side it looks like some gueese in the distance. Hopefully they will come a bit closer for some good shots.

The wetlands is also part of a farm, so we're crossing a couple of sheep paddocks. Naturally I'm also taking a few pictures of sheep as well as the birds.

There's a little goldfinch following us, so I'm getting a couple of shots of it along this path as it settles on the fence.

That's it from Rakatu Wetlands. It has been a very nice little walk photographing some of the birds and some of the sheep. Now we've got to get away from the cold. Over and out.
