I HEADED up to Postman's Track at the western side of Lake Samsonvale for a short walk, seeing cattle on one of the lower trails. After completing a short circuit, I head back up Mount Mee to find some suitable access points and hiking routes from D'Aguilar National Park to Caboolture. I had discovered some suitable routes using Google Maps and Street View, but I needed to check them out for real.

From Mount Mee, I followed Settlement Road, then Centipede Road to an entrance into the national park. The track there looked pretty good and the walk along the road would potentially be okay, so I noted this route before heading back across to the other side of Mount Mee to work out a way off the plateau.

Here I discovered Pedwell Road which led into the Delaney's Creek State Forest. The road turned into a firebreak as it entered the forest, so this seemed to have potential. I returned along Pedwell Road and descended off the plateau down another route where I explored the upper Wamuran Basin to look for routes that could potentially link the basin up to the road at the top of Delaney's Creek. From there I continued heading downstream into Wamuran, noting a sealed path giving easy access into the village from where the Wamuran to Caboolture Rail Trail starts.

I now had a definite route to hike in future weeks between the national park and Caboolture.
