THE WEATHER today was unsettled so decided on a couple of short local walks. Initially I headed to the Tinchi Tamba wetland where I started the main walking track circuit along the Pine River.
I headed off the track to follow a side route through the grass towards an area of mangroves. Rain started falling with the drops catching in the brilliant sunlight. At this point I returned along the trail before heading up to Lake Samsonvale to Bullocky Rest.
From here I started hiking along the Forgan Cove Track, but diverted along the shortcut track which completes the circuit, then exploring a couple of tracks in the middle of the peninsula which I've never hiked before. These tracks were short, but were narrow and interesting going over the tops of the low hills and along the spurs.
