THE CAMERA was still very damp this morning, so I just did a short trip to Beachmere on the coast of Cabooture, north of the rivermouth.
I walked along the beach passing the strips of mangroves. A lot of debris that had washed down the Cabooture (and also Pine and Brisbane Rivers) had deposited on the sand along the beach. This included three chairs from a wooden dining set, and a large wooden cabinet containing drones and other electronics, no doubt all destroyed. There was also the rusting hulk of a large barge settled into the sand.
I eventually reached a small stream, with the mangroves on either side washed into the deep channel having widened and deepened in the recent flood. I explored this stream for a while before returning along the beach.
