ARRIVING in Noosa a little before first light, I headed out onto the beach to watch the dawn. It wasn't dramatic like the previous sunrise I watched here, but there were some clouds to reflect the rising sun.
As the sun rose behind the headlands, I started walking along the coastal track quickly becoming busy mostly with very fit people who had congregated in Noosa for tomorrow's triathlon. The track was also very busy with swarms of large mosquitoes resulting in me having to keep a constant pace.
I did briefly stop at Tea Tree Bay and Granite Bay, where the waves were breaking on their small sandy beaches. The track over to Hell's Gates was still closed with maintenance being behind schedule. I took the temporary shortcut track across to Alexandria Bay and walked along the beach to the first stream, which I explored before turning back to follow the coast track back to Noosa.
The town was very busy when I returned with everything being set up for tomorrow's triathlon and all the athletes warming up and shopping.
