ON MY final morning in Sydney, I took the train out to King's Cross, once the city's nightclub scene, but now quite a posh area.
I explored Darlinghurst Road, discovering a lot of history and finding some water fountains before returning to the city to check out of the pod hostel and begin my journey home. Catching the same airport train as I had done two weeks ago, I contemplated this journey I had been somewhat unsure about when I had arrived, but now having achieved the Sydney Coastal Trail and having explored some of my old haunts, I was definitely ready to head home again.
The sunny day had given way to low cloud as I boarded the flight and following a long taxi to the runway we took off heading along the coast northwards back towards Brisbane. The view below was mostly clear until reaching a big bank of cloud near the NSW/Qld border where we descended landing at Brisbane just before sunset.
