Well good morning friends. Today I've come up to Fern Tree Gully which is east of Melbourne. I got the train up here. Here is the start of the Dandenong Ranges which is an old volcanic area. It is quite misty today but it will be quite an interesting nice and cool walk. I'm going to head up here, then do the Thousand Steps up and then follow some other trails. I'm just exploring the area today. I've heard the tracks and the bush here are really amazing. This is where Melburnians come and do their bushwalking. Obviously I'm going to try it out so I'm going to explore some of these tracks now.

These hills in the Dandenongs are the southernmost extent of the Great Dividing Range which runs near the east coast of Australia all the way up to far north Queensland over several thousand kilometres, so this is the southernmost end of the Great Dividing Range.

OK I've just completed the circuit and now on my way back to the train station to head back into Melbourne. That was a pretty amazing track especially going up into the clouds up on top of the hills there. There is a lot of interesting variety in the track.

This is where I'll leave you today friends. Thanks for joining me again and I'll catch you somewhere else here in Melbourne tomorrow, so until then, ciao for now.
