MOST of Australia's original forests have been cleared. Many are regenerating, but the vast stands of untouched forest have been reduced to a small pockets dotted around the country.

On the steep slopes of Mount Tamborine south of Brisbane contains some of these remnant forests, where the ancient trees stand phenomenally tall with enormous buttress roots snaking out from their trunks around the giant volcanic boulders providing a strong support against the strong winds sometimes blowing through this area.
