EXPLORING the Burleigh Heads walkway during an unusually rainy winter morning, dramatic clouds and rain squalls normally only seen in the summer rainy season.

Viewed from one of the lookouts back towards Surfer's Paradise, the towering high rises appeared and disappeared with each squall coming in off the sea. This shot was taken just before one of these squalls completely enveloped the city.

In post-processing, I significantly cooled the image to a surreal blue cast, emphasising the mist and salt haze coming in off the sea.
