Milford Sound

Milford Sound

AFTER hiking the legendary Milford Track, I relaxed in spectacular Milford Sound for a couple of days. Glaciers from recent ice ages spectacularly carved out this valley with mile high cliffs towering above this deep fiord.

At the mouth of the Cleddeau River is a shallow rocky beach where the tide sweeps in and out of every day. When the tide is in, the water comes right up to the reeds above the rocky beach reflecting the impossibly towering mountains in the crystal clear water.
