Introduction to today's journey
Today's journey continues across the Pacific Ocean, having lost a day over the International Date Line. The sun rises spectacularly over the vast sky before descending into Brisbane airport and returning home concluding my journey around the western hemisphere.
Today's Journey
Flying overnight as we cross the Pacific Ocean over the equator and international date line. Here we lose a day. |
The lights come on as we start approaching Australia. |
Checking the screen - there's not far to go now. We have crossed over the Pacific Islands and now flying over the Coral Sea soon to descend into Brisbane. |
Morning over the Coral sea viewed from the dirty window as we begin our descent. |
Passing through a small bank of low cloud over Moreton Island on our final approach. |
Flying over Moreton Bay as a ship navigates its way over the submerged sand banks to head out into the blue yonder. |
Redcliffe Peninsula is now in view as we line up to land. |
Crossing the sand flats at the edge of Moreton Bay. |
The flats turn into mangroves just before we touch down on the runway. |
I have arrived back in Brisbane and passed through customs following my exploration of the Western Hemisphere. |
