HIKING is a big part of Walkabout Jeff's travels. Walkabout Jeff is from New Zealand, so it only makes sense to have a good prepresentation of New Zealand's spectacular hiking trails. There are many thousands of kilometres of hiking trail through New Zealand's wilderness, most are little known. The great walks are the highest standard and most well known walking trails exploring some of New Zealand's most pristine and culturally significant areas.
New Zealand is a relatively safe area for hiking, with a noticable lack of predators. The weather there can be pretty extreme at times though, forcing some of these hikes to only operate between late spring and mid autumn in the southern hemisphere.
