CAMPING back at the North Point campsite again I crossed the point to Honeymoon Bay lying between the point and the cape. Waves were breaking in the small exposed beach. Low cloud filled the sky making for an uneventful sunrise. When the sun did break through though it sharply highlighted the jagged volcanic rock formations that enclosed the bay.
Every other bay on Moreton Island is long and sweeping, ranging from 2 to 35 kilometres long with a backdrop of sand hills. Honeymoon Bay is the only beach on the island surrounded by rock.
