EXPLORING the sunbaked mudflats near Burpengary Creek, the mud had since the last spring tides dried concrete-hard under the strong sun. The surface was cracked into salt-encrusted plates like broken glass. Scattered around the large flat were the rusting remains of a couple of old cars, abandoned here many years ago and left to rust into dust. |
