TODAY I'm on the train, having left Miami this morning and now somewhere between Tampa and Orlando. This is the overnight train heading up to Washington D.C. It's quite a long trip of over two thousand kilometres. It's quite a nice change from being on a bus. I've done nearly six thousand kilometres by bus so far this trip so it's quite nice to change over to trains.
This is the longest train trip since two years ago when I was doing the trans-Mongolian route, having gone from Beijing to Pyongyang then back across to St Petersburg.
It's a beautiful day here and gradually heading north to the much cooler climes of Washington D.C. arriving sometime tomorrow afternoon. I'll see you there.
