THE MONGOLIAN Empire was one of the greatest ever in human history. From its remote central Asian origin, it expanded to cover over 50 countries all the way from the Korean peninsula, stretching all the way westward towards the Atlantic Ocean to present-day Bulgaria. The enormous empire encompassed almost half of the world’s population.
Contracted to just a shadow of it former glory, Mongolia is now one of the world’s least populated countries landlocked in between the great superpowers of China and Russia. The country thrives due to its mining, but much of the country remains true to its traditional roots that have greatly predating and outlasting the once mighty empire. Thousands of years of adaptation to one of the inhospitable wildernesses on the planet has preserved the culture of the nomadic ger dwellers.
