THE KODAK camera was starting to wear out, in particular the blue sensor not picking up enough yellow. It was time for me to upgrade.
The current craze (so it seemed) were video cameras that also did still shots. SLR cameras were still too expensive at this point, so I picked up a video camera that does 2.3 megapixel shots - more than twice that of the old camera.
As an added bonus, this camera had a zoom, allowing me more flexibility in framing the pictures. With the other camera I had been very limited in only having a fixed angle. The low 1 megapixel resolution prevented the cropping of images being practical.
