FLYING into Nelson from the short flight from Wellington a large southerly front was barrelling up the South Island. My plane had been one of the last to leave Wellington Airport before it was closed, as often was the case when a severe front came through. Further west the front was just about to hit Nelson, but I landed at the airport safely before the storm hit. This photo was taken flying over Tasman Bay on the approach to landing. |
