THE AVON River meanders its way through the centre of Christchurch. Many bridges cross the river, including the Bridge of Remembrance which has a large stone archway commemorating the soldiers who had perished during the world wars of last century. The arch was brilliantly illuminated in the early morning sunshine standing bold as a testament of the fallen, in New Zealand, the world's most peaceful country. |
