BEFORE the earthquakes Christchurch was well known for its gothic architecture. Sadly these European designs had evolved in a region free of earthquakes.

In the peacefulness of summer the blooming flowers bring life to the stone architecture of the Canterbury Museum which otherwise stands cold for much of the year.
