I HAD just entered the Imperial Palace at the ancient Vietnamese capital city in Hue. Following one of the main roads through the palace grounds I had to watch for all the traffic passing through, particularly the motorbikes and cyclos.
Just inside the entrance were a couple of cannons used to defend this mysterious city. Unfortunately the city fell during the first of two wars which destroyed much of its historical buildings. Fortunately the ruins which did survive have been well preserved.
