THE WATERS of the many channels of the Mekong Delta wash right up to the thick forests of palm trees on every bank.

Nestled deep within these islands are small farms that grow bananas, coconuts and other tropical produce.

The vegetation here is incredibly lush and no doubt very fast growing, creating an abundance of food for the locals who live here.
