VIETNAM isn't known for its electrical safety standards. In Ho Chi Minh City hundreds of cables hang from the wooden power poles, some of which are rotting.
It would seem that when one power cable fails, it is not removed. Instead a new cable is laid around the spaghetti of other cables on the pole. Some cables have broken with their ends hanging down. These cables are sometimes live, so I had to take care whilst walking these very busy streets to make sure I didn't make any contact with these cables.
